Our Story
Hi, we’re Blake and Nicole — the husband-and-wife team behind Foo Dog Leather, a small leather goods shop based in Texas.
Blake is a full-time firefighter with a background in construction management and a lifelong passion for building and working with his hands. Nicole works in software and has a love for planning, journaling, and organizing life’s little details.
Our journey into leatherworking began when Nicole couldn’t find a quality cover for her Hemlock & Oak planner. Blake decided to make one himself — and what started as a thoughtful gesture turned into a full-blown passion. From that first prototype, Blake fell in love with the craftsmanship and creativity of leatherwork. Each of our products is hand-stitched using full-grain, vegetable-tanned Italian leather and made with care in our home workshop. For Blake, time in the workshop is more than just work — it’s a therapeutic, hands-on escape that keeps him grounded.
When we’re not working, we’re usually relaxing with our two dogs and two cats, staying active, binging TV shows, exploring new places when we can, and enjoying the quiet of the Hill Country.Thank you for supporting our small business — we’re so glad you’re here.
